A potter’s garden, abandoned for the war in 1914, is brought back to life for 2014. This garden remembers both lost agrarian ways and skills and the lives of those who served in World War One, but also celebrates the power of gardens to evolve and renew.

Inspired by the WWI centenary and the fabulous restoration of The Farnham Pottery at Wrecclesham, the garden features an abandoned bottle-style kiln and workshop set within loose, cottage-style planting. Sculpture, water feature, props and artefacts reference both the pre-war rural potter’s life and the soldier’s war, complemented by a habitat wall, native hedging and wild areas.
