Frogheath Builds Medal Winning Gardens At Chelsea 2025

Frogheath Landscapes built two gardens which featured in the All About Plants section of Chelsea Flower Show 2025. They were Zoe Claymore’s Wildlife Trusts British Rainforest Garden and Ryan McMahon’s Seawilding Garden.

Silver Gilt Medal Winning Garden

The British Rainforest Garden won a Silver Gilt. The garden, designed by Zoe Claymore for the Wildlife Trusts was supported by Aviva and Project Giving Back. It featured a waterfall and stream going under a wooden walkway, with lots of moss and ivy, some of which was cut and grown by members of local Community Interest Company, Young At Heart. A dramatic silver birch tree leans over the wooden walkway at a significant angle, showcasing the way that nature can be resilient in the face of adversity. Read more about it here.

Gold Medal Winning Garden

We are delighted to share that Seawilding was Gold Medal winning for Ryan McMahon from Musa Landscapes. This is the first time that seagrass, the only flowering ocean plant, has featured at Chelsea. A large tank at the forefront of the garden was supplied by Aquarium Technologies Limited to show off this underwater plant. The gold medal winning garden was supported by Project Giving Back, Seawilding and The William Grant Foundation. See more from this medal winning garden here.

Teamwork behind medal winning gardens

No garden is likely to win medals without a great team behind it. There are a lot of thanks to be had. Firstly to the designers, Zoe and Ryan, for trusting Frogheath Landscapes to build their medal winning gardens. We worked with Zoe at Hampton Court when she won with The Renter’s Retreat and we were delighted she chose Steve and the team to work with again. Coming highly recommended to Ryan, it is the first time we have worked together, and hopefully won’t be the last. Both designers have spoken highly of the Frogheath team, particularly apprentice Oli whose contribution to Seawilding was his first experience of a show garden. Read his account here.

Both build teams worked incredibly hard across the two weeks prior to the show being open to the public. The hours are long and the access logistics aren’t always easy. However, the team should be proud of themselves for their efforts.

Lastly, the unhung heroes in the office who arranged everything from accommodation to the bun run, thank you Sam and Ami, two newbies to the team and Sarah and Jan for supporting them.
